Having their name placed as a -[question in Trivial Pursuit; supplying some of the back round music for a major motion picture named "Up The Creek"; being the first American group to be signed with "Virgin Records"; and having more than five Album releases under their belt, "Shooting Star" has proved to be a formidable force in the realm of the Mid-West and National Rock scene.

The original "Shooting Star" up line included, left to right; Ron Verlin, (bass); Van Mclain, ( lead guitar); Charles Waltz, (violin); Gary West, (vocals); Bill Guffy (Keys) and Steve Thomas, (drums). As noted earlier in this web page,

Gary West is Ron Wests' brother and wrote most of the best "Shooting Stars" material.
